It's once again time for awards in the games industry, kicking off with the newly annual Game Awards.  We talk about the nominees and give our picks, while giving live results of the categories that were announced while we were recording.  We also cover the new Steam Awards and give some of our picks for them.

Though none of us were huge fans of the first, we all thought it had potential and could be greatly improved for the second iteration.  The second game is here in Dishonored 2 and we give our thoughts.

The Horizon festival takes itself down under, hosting races from the beautiful coastline of Australia, to the rugged outback.  It's also one of the early titles in Xbox's Play Anywhere program, allowing PC players the chance to play with their Xbox friends.  During "What We Played" Eric gives his first impressions of FIFA 17.

Gamer Christmas starts early next week, so the Athletes do their usual predictions episode beforehand.  It contains the usual blend of pessimism and optimism, with some bold predictions thrown in as well.  During What We Played, Dan talks early impressions of Hearts of Iron IV, Eric played some mobile games, Will mixed in Doom and Ratchet and Clank along with some older classics, and Corey revisits The Witcher 3.  After the episode, Dan and Corey cover last weekend's Game of Thrones episode, "The Broken Man."

We didn't end up covering Doom this week like we thought we were, but it obviously came up in Letter D episode.  We covered Doom, Dreamcast, Destructoid...and that's pretty much it.  It was a busy week!  During what we played, Overwatch took up most of the segment, and after the episode Dan and Corey talk some spoilers for Episode 6 of Game of Thrones titled "Blood of my Blood."

After open and closed betas, we finally were able to get our mitts on the finished project...so in a timely fashion we cover Overwatch.  In later segments Will talks about Fallout 4's Far Harbor DLC, and Corey played Salt and Sanctuary.  After the episode Dan and Corey do a spoiler filled discussion on episodes 4 and 5 of Game of Thrones Season 6.

The Far Cry Series' first trek back in history, and it goes way back....10,000 BCE to be exact.  Far Cry has swapped vehicles for woolly mammoths and guns with bows and spears as the protagonist Takkar tries to rebuild the Wenja tribe while fending off the violence of neighboring tribes. 

 

During what we played we talk some more Fire Emblem Fates and give first impressions of Stardew Valley.  (to be covered next week)
